I don't know how much more problem solving, trouble shooting or idea generating my brain can handle this week. My mind is overloaded with the weight of far too many deadlines and it needs a vacation. My body can stay. Really. I'm merely requesting the temporary extraction of my brain; allowing it time to bask in the sun on some tropical isle with colorful and fruity libations at it's disposal. Ahhhh... peace, solitude and freedom from responsibility! Even as I sit here entertaining myself with this blog, anxiety is looming.
In the midst of all this mayhem, one of my greatest escapes is teaching pilates. I teach about 16 hours/week at Power Pilates in Westwood. There's nothing greater than witnessing a client experience an "Aha!" moment; when they've finally achieved a deeper body awareness that takes their workout to a whole new level. Or when clients tell me that pilates has helped take them out of pain or put them into that old pair of jeans they never thought they'd fit into again. I love when they marvel at their own strength and their ability to gain mastery of their own bodies.
It feels so good to be a facilitator of well-being. Now, I just have to do the same for myself and allow some rejuvenation time.
