This holiday/ birthday weekend for me was all about re-connecting with friends. And I mean beyond the telephone calls, text messaging and e-mails. We actually spent face-to-face time together.
Sometimes I forget that my friends are what keep me buoyant. Just when I feel like I'm sinking, they always come to the rescue and remind me of who I am. Their presence in my life serves as my reflection; allowing me to see more clearly my own greatness through whom I attract. Their words of support always seem perfectly crafted and inspire me toward authenticity and fulfillment. Their constant sense of play and adventure reminds me that age is a mere number (very important, as I just turned 37. ZOINKS!).
I'm always awed by their creative talent, their passion, their artistry, their intellect, their athleticism, their commitment, their loyalty, their sense of community, their open-mindedness and their love of life. And then I stop to think, perhaps, that's what they see in me.
I once read that our friends are our mirrors.
