MOVING FORWARD MONDAYS: the law of attraction in effect!
If you've read my past couple of BLOGS, you'll know that I've been working on being a little more spontaneous, care-free and adventurous in my life. I'm too much of a planner. So, as soon as I decide to be spontaneous... my whole world turns upside down; throwing unexpected opportunities my way that far from fall into my current life plan. But, they usher in an amazing blast from my past... the chance to perform again!
Ever since I got married and moved to Los Angeles, I've kind of had this notion that performing was an important part of my past but, in order to reach my destiny, I had to lead a more pragmatic life. You know, "settle down", "grow up", "get a real job". I''ve really enjoyed every aspect of my career including my massage practice, Soulful Kneads, teaching Pilates and running my On-line Pilates T-shirt Boutique, Joe's Pila-T-Shop. Maybe it's just the crazy gemini-spirit in me that loves variety.
Anyway, I totally geek out when it comes to learning about the human body, how it works, how it moves and how it functions optimally. And I love helping people experience the freedom of movement in their bodies that comes from massage therapy and a regular Pilates practice. I love developing my teaching and bodywork skills and honing my proficiency in both Pilates and massage therapy. (I'm currently training one-on-one in neuromuscular therapy under a 20 year NMT veteran who used to certify people in the St. John Method of Neuromuscular Therapy. I want his brain!)
Anyway, so long story short... one of my regular Pilates clients is the supervising choreographer for the Spice Girl Reunion Tour. She and her team picked me to be the stand-in for Scary Spice during the rehearsal process.
I've never been a stand-in for anyone before but here's my understanding of the gig so far. Basically, I'll learn all of Mel B's (Scary Spice) choreography and "stand-in" for her if she can't make it to rehearsals (she's concurrently shooting "Dancing With the Stars") or if she wants to see what the show looks like from the audience perspective. Plus, I'll help her learn her choreography. Check this out...Rumor has it that I'll even get to learn how to crack a bullwhip! Plus I'm psyched because I'll have the chance to work with choreographers that I've never worked with before such as Jerry Slaughter , RJ Durell , Mike Rooney and, of course, the amazingly talented Tour Director, Jamie King. Michael (my hubby) has worked with Jamie a few times; on one of Madonna's tours, her "Don't Tell Me" video, and the Grammy's. Plus Jamie featured him as the lead guy in Shania Twain's video "Ain't No Quitter". Check him out below! He's wearing the red shirt in Madonna's video and, as I said, he's the lead guy in Shania Twain's video.
**By the way, my little foray back into the entertainment world won't hold up production on the 6 new styles that are debuting in The Shop in a couple of weeks. Joe's Pila-T-Shop is STILL IN BUSINESS!

It's really important to learn how free their body is through pilates and massage therapy.I was able to do this as my therapist learned me and now I am feeling a lot more better and more comfortable in my body.
